Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement

Buffalo State students can earn a Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement for extended involvement in community service, service-learning, and other community based work.

The Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement can represent your commitment to social responsibility and community participation. The Certificate will distinguish you from other students not only as a leader in the community, but also in the job search process.

Successful completion of the requirements and application process is recognized at the VSLC Celebration of Service where you will be presented with the Certificate.

 

Levels of Recognition

Apply to earn the Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement in one of the following levels of recognition:

 

COMMUNITY SUPPORTER- Students with at least 120 hours of service

NEIGHBORHOOD ADVOCATE- Students with at least 200 hours of service

ACTIVE CITIZEN- Students with at least 400 hours of service

 

Certificate Requirements

Students must complete the application and service summary report with the documented hours from service-learning, volunteering, and community work-study.

Contact information must be provided to verify the completion of the hours served.

Applications are due to the VSLC in Cleveland Hall 306 by March 14, 2014. Incomplete applications will be returned.
