Community Partners

Community Partners

SUNY Buffalo State hopes to create long-term, meaningful partnerships with community agencies through service-learning, volunteering, and other experiential opportunities for students. These partnerships, designed to benefit both the students and the community, are the result of an increasing understanding nation-wide that higher education institutions have a responsibility to the communities in which they are located. Students benefit from these experiential learning opportunities; communities benefit from the knowledge and assistance of student learners; and classroom curricula can come to life through student contact with the knowledge, experience, and expertise in the adjoining community. Service-learning is an important and growing movement in civic engagement and education at SUNY Buffalo State.
